Having Chinese operatives that are based in China gets you a foot in the door with many factories and allows the growth of a business relationship in a harmonious fashion as there is no breakdown in communication or confusion in translation. 

Sourcing in a country that you are used to the laws in make's the whole process a lot easier, however, Chinese laws are very different and can throw up many challenges. Again our team on the ground are up to speed with the laws and they will check of all the legal paperwork that are required in order for you to trade with that company. What people don't realise that is whilst you could go to China and do this yourself, ask yourself the question "how are you going to 100% check this paperwork is correct?". Chinese companies are not adverse to supplying you with "fake" paperwork which you believe is enough to cover you to bring a product in to the country. Remember, as the importer YOU have 100% responsibility to ensure you have all the CE certification that complies with current law. Bypassing this, or pleading ignorance is not enough to get you out of a legal dispute. Our rule of thumb is, if the company hasn't got the paperwork - we don't trade with then!
